Preemie Cap Info & Links to Patterns
Overlake Hospital and Children's Hospitals need
preemie caps. See Home for information on what each
hospital needs at this time. Below are guidelines for
making preemie caps. The menus above also contain
links to free sewn, knit and crocheted chemo cap
patterns. If you find another free pattern that you'd
like to add, please contact us.
Remember that babies' skins are very sensitive so do not
use yarn or material that contain any wool. The following
chart is from Ray of Hope. It should help guide you in
making preemie hats. Remember to make knit and
crocheted hats 1.5" smaller since they will
stretch.
There are so many children and adults in need of a bright colored cap to wear when they lose their hair to chemotherapy. At a time when their lives are in enough turmoil, perhaps having a cap someone has made just for them, will bring some renewed hope into their life. Please help today.
