Welcome

Eastside Fiber Arts encourages everyone in the fiber arts community to join us and make items for local charities. We are a fun group who get together once a month to work on our projects. In addition we participate in local events. Our primary goal is to create items for local charities but you are welcome to bring whatever project you are working on. We are supportive of all types of fiber arts and will do our best to help teach you whenever possible.

If our meeting time doesn't work for you, please consider joining our sister group, TBT Fiber Arts Group, who also meets on the Eastside and makes fiber arts items for charity. Their meeting times and locations are noted on the calendar.

Local Charities

The items below have been requested by each local organization. State regulations require that you wash and individually bag each item in a Ziploc-type bag. Please don't forget to tape a card with the size of the item and any washing instruction on the front of the bag. Please do not submit articles that need to be hand washed or dry cleaned out of consideration for the ill patients and taxed family members. You may either sign up with Overlake and Children's to deliver the items yourself or someone in the group who has already signed up will deliver them for you.

If you are in a need of a pattern, check our list of where to find free patterns. Patterns are available for each of the needs listed.

Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center

Children's is in need of the following items:

  • 24x24" blankets

  • 36x36" blankets

  • Scarves for the chapel

Please make sure that the blankets do not have a lacy weave. They don't want the infants to be able to poke their fingers through the holes.

They do not need preemie or chemo caps at this time.

Overlake Cancer Resource Center

The Overlake Cancer Resource Center is in need of lightweight chemo caps made from fabric or knitted/crocheted with cotton yarn for the spring and summer. Chemo caps are needed in all sizes. They currently have an overabundance of preemie caps so do not make any more for them.
